Mr. de Koning is the President and CEO of L.A. Spas, Inc., a manufacturer of premium spas and a Sage Capital Partners portfolio company. Prior to joining L.A. Spas, he was a Managing Director of Sage. Mr. de Koning was a General Partner and co-founder of Mercury Partners, a Los Angeles-based private equity firm and the predecessor to Sage Capital Partners. While at Mercury Partners, he formed and served as a General Partner of three investment funds targeting small- to middle-market manufacturing and business services companies. Previously he was with Trident Capital, an investment firm that financed information technology and business services companies. Earlier in his career, Mr. de Koning worked as an analyst in the Office of the Chief Economist at the U.S. Department of Commerce and at the U.S. Department of Treasury.

Mr. de Koning graduated with a bachelor's degree in Economics from Colorado State University. He is a board member of Asphalt Zipper, Inc. and Corral West Ranchwear, Inc., and the Chairman of L.A. Spas, Inc.
